The NBA app is everything to love about the League. Live games, highlights, player spotlights, recaps, style, interviews, and more combine in a fresh social feed-style format. It's all powered by Microsoft technologies like Copilot AI and Azure, so fans never miss a moment of the favorite players, teams, and league.

You can't fake fandom

If you're going to promote an app designed to engage some of sports' most passionate fans, you're going to want to feature real fans. At the same time, with global brands like the NBA and Microsoft, it's crucial that those real fans also look the part. We scoured the west coast with casting calls for actors that are also diehard fans.

Spreading the court

Once the shoot wrapped and the all-star hero asset was locked-in, it was time to set our offense in motion. Along with cutdowns in all the ratios and run-times, we created a suite of static assets and copy that were implemented across Microsoft's paid and owned-and-operated channels.

An unstoppable turnaround

The NBA runs games every day of the week. Great news for fans, but for an agency promoting the Microsoft-powered live insights feature on the NBA app, it meant keeping tabs on the biggest matchups throughout the season. Once the game was finished, we got to work, identifying the most feed-worthy clips and insights and requesting them from the league, which we then turned into highlight packages. All within a 36-hour turnaround.
